If you are experiencing homelessness in Colorado and are receiving services from a government agency or nonprofit organization, a dated letter on the organization's letterhead explaining your situation can be accepted in place of the documents listed above.

3 Step 3: Choose a Qualifying E-Bike
To get the rebate, your e-bike must meet Colorado's requirements. Here's what to look for:
UL Safety Certified
Must have UL 2849, UL 2271 or EN 15194 certification clearly visible on the battery
Power Limit
Maximum 750 watts motor power (most standard e-bikes meet this requirement)
Pedal Assistance
Must have functional pedals (e-scooters and e-motorcycles don't qualify)
New Only
No used, refurbished, or converted bikes qualify for this rebate
Important Tip: When buying from a local dealer, ask specifically for e-bikes that qualify for the Colorado rebate. Most dealers will clearly mark qualifying models.
4 Step 4: Get Your Discount
Follow these simple steps at purchase time to get your $450 rebate:
Bring Your ID
Take your Colorado driver's license or a recent utility bill (within last 3 months) that shows your Colorado address. Digital copies on your phone are acceptable.
Complete the Rebate Form
The dealer will provide Form DR 0514. This is your declaration that you qualify for the rebate. You'll need to provide basic information and sign the form.
Get $450 Off Instantly

Pay Tax on Original Price
You'll pay sales tax on the full price before the rebate. For example: For a $1,000 bike, you pay tax on $1,000 but only pay $550 ($1,000 - $450).
